As island communities, we need to ensure that we meet our obligations and commitment to the Paris Climate Agreement. It is vital that we perform a current greenhouse gas inventory, manage our greenhouse gas reduction plan and continue forward in creating a climate action plan that capitalizes on our resiliency and envisions implementation of reductions in order to achieve our goal of a fossil-free future. Additionally, we need to strategize for where we move our infrastructure and how it relates to our general and community plans.
I support continued funding for the city Office of Climate Change, Sustainability and Resiliency. Thursday, September 27, 2018, from 530-730pm at Aliamanu School Cafeteria will be the first of nine Climate Action Plan Public Meeting in this series being held in council districts across Oahu.
