I have been getting many questions from residents about whether certain claims being made by my opponent are true, so I added a new column to our e-newsletter entitled Fact Check, where we'll be exploring issues brought up that are important to our community. If you’re not on our list, please send me your email address in a private message and I’ll make sure to add you.
I remain committed to lead with Aloha and make no personal attacks. I will be sharing public records to provide information because voters deserve to know the truth about any given issue, know where your elected officials stand, and be provided facts that allow you to decide for yourself.
In the coming days and weeks leading to the November 6 General Election, you may hear or see things attempting to question me or my integrity. If you do, please reach out to me on my cell (808) 354-1178 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, share your concerns, and allow me the opportunity to respond.
Mahalo for your consideration.
FACT CHECK - MONSTER HOMES
On March 13, 2018, Honolulu Star Advertiser's acclaimed investigative journalist Gordon Pang authored an article alerting readers that the, "Mayor signs bill temporarily banning permits for new 'monster houses'," and gives credit where due, to its introducer, Councilmember Ikaika Anderson. This is in direct conflict with one of the recent mailers sent out by my opponent stating that he secured the moratorium on monster homes. I've included these two pieces for you to decide for yourself.
